Academy for Keener Minds

Academy for Keener Minds is a category IV school registered as a non-public school in the State of Tennessee using the A.C.E. curriculum. We offer High school diplomas to individuals at all ages. Academy for Keener Minds supplies parents and students with curriculum, administrative, and academic support. We have set a high standard for our students and work to maintain this standard.

Students complete workbooks called paces, a minimum of five paces are required once every three weeks.

Meetings are required once every three weeks before a student may progress forward. This ensures that our students are keeping up with the program.

Students move forward at their own pace. If a concept comes rapidly, the student may advance rapidly; if the student struggles with a concept they do not move on until they master the material. This process prevents learning gaps, students must know what they are doing before they can move forward. Simply moving a child forward based upon age is considered by us disservice. Academy for Keener Minds does not generalize, each student is an individual with challenges and talents unique to them, our program helps encourages these talents and assists student in realizing their full potential.

To earn one credit a student must complete and pass the tests for 12 paces in each subject.

We offer four levels of High School Diplomas:

Vocational
Standard
College Preparatory
Honors

The A.C.E. curriculum allows students to work independently. However, each student has between 8 to 10 hours per month of free tutoring based upon the number of paces they are completing in a three-week period. Tutoring is scheduled in advance at the request of the parent or student, and may include up to two other students working on the same pace. Parents must attend each tutoring session.
